    Job Specification

    Electronics Technician

    Responsibilities

    This is a varied role which will include but not be limited to:

    • Fault finding and repair of customer returns and faulty units from sub-contractors
    • Production of in-house manufactured sub-assemblies and products
    • Prototype assembly and test
    • Maintenance and repair of in-house test equipment
    • PAT testing of company equipment
    • Effective communication with sales team to ensure repair deadlines are maintained
    • Calibration of PAT testers and microwave checkers
    • General electronics and electrical technical support

    Qualifications and Experience

    • HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electronics, Electrical engineering or similar
    • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in a similar job
    • Good knowledge of the various manufacturing processes for electronic products
    • Experience in PCB assembly including surface mount and through-hole
    • Experience in system assembly including prototype wiring, testing & fault finding

    Skills and Abilities

    • Able to fault find and repair electronic equipment
    • Proficient in soldering/de-soldering of both surface mount and through-hole devices
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to use own initiative well
    • Able to work effectively to meet agreed timescales
    • Enthusiasm and desire for success
    • Basic computer literacy

    Terms

    • Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (8:45-17:00 Monday to Thursday, 9:00-16:00 Friday)
    • Reports to: Operations Director
    • Salary: £18k - £25k (depending on skills and experience) plus performance related bonus and profit share scheme (after 1 years tenure)
    • Holidays: 24 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays
