Calibration with Lifetime Warranty

We have complete confidence in our First Stop Safety PAT Testers. As a result, as part of our calibration service we now supply a Lifetime Warranty. To retain the validity of the Lifetime Warranty the unit must be returned to First Stop Safety annually for a calibration. This provides our customers with complete peace of mind.

PAT Testers and Microwave Checkers

They are accurate instruments and it is important to make sure that they are continuing to measure correctly. A faulty tester could fail to pick up faults with electrical appliances and result in passing them. To prevent this and ensure the accuracy of PAT Testers and microwave checkers, we recommend that calibration is carried out annually like all electrical measurement equipment.

Calibration - Whats included?

When we calibrate our PAT Testers or Microwave Checkers we make sure that all products meet the original specification. This includes:

  • Calibration traceable back to National Standards using a UKAS accredited test laboratory

  • Refurbishing the unit and upgrading firmware if required

  • Carrying out a PAT test on the tester if it is mains powered

  • Issuing a calibration certificate

  • Turnaround within 5 working days of receipt of tester

Collection & Delivery Service

We can arrange for the PAT Tester or Microwave Checker to be collected for calibration and delivered back to you within 5 working days of receipt of tester. The cost of this service is £22.95 + VAT.

Alternatively you can arrange your own delivery back to First Stop Safety. Delivery back to you is £12.00 + VAT.


What Cables Do I Need To Return With My pat Tester?

To calibrate your PAT tester, as a minimum, we need the earth test lead that was supplied with your equipment. Ideally, please send all cables and leads so that we can also check your charger and IEC leads at the same time.

Packaging Requirements for Shipping

When we collect your pat tester it MUST be packaged in a cardboard box. (Even if your tester is in a hard case). The courier may add extra handling charges if you ship your tester to us inadequately packaged for example sending in a plastic bag or no packaging at all.

Drop-Off and Collection Option for Local Customers


Customers can also drop-off and collect the tester from our York premises, if arranged in advance. This means you will save money by not having to pay collection and delivery fees. To do this please telephone 01904 529054 or e-mail calibrations@firststopsafety.co.uk. Please note this service is not currently available on-line.


Same Day Service

By prior arrangement, we also offer a same-day calibration service. Your tester must be delivered to us by 09:30 am and will be available for collection after 15:30 on the same day. The Same Day Service is available by prior arrangement only via telephone (01904 529054) or e-mail (calibrations@firststopsafety.co.uk). Please note this service is not currently available on-line.

Please note however if your tester requires a repair then Same Day Service may not be possible.
